Bio
Michael B. Gilden is Board Certified in Marital & Family Law by The Florida Bar. Mr. Gilden is also an AV® Preeminent™ rated attorney in both legal ability and ethics, the highest possible rating by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the most widely recognized attorney rating organization in the United States.
Mr. Gilden represents a wide-ranging client base in divorce, parenting disputes, paternity, post-dissolution enforcement, modification and other related matters. Mr. Gilden represents clients with complex business valuation issues, as well as sensitive and intricate matters concerning custody and other child related issues.
Michael spent 15 years as the partner in charge of the marital & family law department of a large firm in Fort Lauderdale. Prior to that role, Michael practiced at a national firm and a family law boutique firm.
Mr. Gilden earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Miami. He earned his law degree from Nova Southeastern Law School where he received a full academic scholarship as a Goodwin Scholar. Mr. Gilden graduated from the American Bar Association’s 2007 Family Law Trial Advocacy Program.
Michael has lectured on Marital & Family Law topics throughout the State of Florida and he has written articles featured in numerous publications, including the Miami Herald, the Daily Business Review, Sprinkles Magazine, and Moves Magazine. Mr. Gilden has been quoted as an expert on family law topics in various publications, including Entrepreuer.com, TheStreet.com, and Law360. In 2013, Mr. Gilden was featured in an episode of the popular VH1 reality television program, Basketball Wives, in connection with his representation of Evelyn Lozada in her divorce from Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson.
Mr. Gilden is one of the select lawyers in the State of Florida to be Board Certified in Marital & Family Law, an achievement which requires extensive academic and trial experience, as well as judicial and peer approval. Mr. Gilden is a Past-President of the Broward County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section. He is the Past-Chairperson of The Florida Bar Family Law Section Parenting Education Course Committee, the Past-Secretary of the Equitable Distribution Committee, and a former member of the Legislation, Support, and Continuing Education Committees. Mr. Gilden served as the Past-Chairperson for The Florida Bar Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee.
