Bio

Debbie Ross-Ocariz is a highly experienced family law attorney, bringing over 15 years of expertise to our firm, with a focus on high-conflict divorce, paternity actions, and complex family law matters involving high-net-worth individuals. Since passing the Florida Bar in 2009, Debbie has earned a reputation for her strong advocacy on behalf of her clients while prioritizing the best interests of the children involved.

Debbie is fluent in both English and Spanish, which allows her to effectively serve a broader range of clients and communities in Florida. Known for her empathetic and client-centered approach, she understands the deeply personal nature of family law cases and leverages her communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills to guide clients through emotionally charged legal situations. Her ability to remain calm under pressure and her attention to detail make her highly effective in managing all aspects of family law cases.

As an active member of the Florida Family Law Section and the Florida First Family Law Inn of Court, Debbie is well-versed in a wide range of family law issues, including divorce, child custody, child support, paternity suits, modifications, and adoptions. She also provides specialized guidance to LGBTQ+ families on legal paths to parenthood through assisted reproduction and adoption.

Debbie’s dedication to her clients, combined with her strategic thinking and compassionate nature, has earned her recognition on the Super Lawyers list in Family Law. Her focus on advocating for her clients while ensuring the best possible outcomes for children is the hallmark of her practice.

Debbie earned her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University – Shepard Broad Law Center in 2009, after receiving her Bachelor's degree from the University of Florida in 2003. Prior to attending law school, she served as a director for a non-profit organization, where she developed a strong commitment to advocacy and community service, and she taught high school.

Outside of work, Debbie enjoys traveling with her family, cheering for the Florida Gators, and volunteering with the community.
